Sunday afternoon blues

You know those rainy Sunday afternoons when you’re all out of peanut butter and can't think of anything to do? You’re too fat to go to the gym, your Ouija board is broken, and the only movies in theaters are starring Matt Damon. You're cold and lazy, and the only thing that could possibly lift your spirits is cruising through documents on international building energy rating and disclosure practices. Right?

I thought so.

Well, hopefully here is where you’ll turn in such instances--or whenever you need to know anything about building rating the world over. There’s a wealth of information here about how energy rating is valued, conducted, and legislated. And the international scope we attempted makes comparison both easy and robust. That said, we know we didn’t catch every last document, but it was our hope to assemble all freely available documents on the web related to building energy rating that a browser like Chrome can easily translate to English.

I want to just revamp those caveats for second, though: Online. Freely available. Translatable.

There are more resources on building rating than we aggregated here. But if it’s available online, free, and readily translatable by a standard browser's auto-translation tool, chances are we’ve got it. We tried hard to make this a comprehensive international repository. I combed through the legislative websites of over 50 countries, tried to decipher abstruse technical manuals, taught myself a little Uzbek, and Google-d my fingers to the bone to make it possible.

So, please, enjoy this nerdy treasure trove of transcontinental literature and spread the word about the value of energy efficiency in the built environment.

Your rainy Sundays will never be the same.
